Last day of the longest September heatwave on record (UK)

Yes it’s been hot and on this final day it was very humid too. On an all important trip to pick up an online order I took a circuitous walk around the Seven in Worcester.

New flooring, September 2023

Long in the planning, it’s not the kind of thing that costs a few £100 and we’re in a cost of living crisis so it had to wait. It was worth it though, looks amazing!

London in the September 2023 Heatwave

If I knew in advance that it would be 30 degrees-C everyday I might not have booked a handful of nights in the capital. Amongst other things it’s famous for not being very comfortable in a heatwave, although it was pleasure not work which makes a big difference. I had an amazing few days though…

Einaudi: Coming to Birmingham

I was chatting to a friend about music and I mentioned that I’d love to see Einaudi, an amazing classical composer who happens to be the most streamed of all time. As the thought occurred to me, I thought I’d better check for tour dates. Sure enough, he’s coming to my home city next month.…

I (self-evidently) shot this on far too low a resolution, and I pointed the camera downwards so it didn’t capture enough light. Oh well, it will take weeks or…

Home town tourist

A beautiful day in tragically unloved Birmingham. We have a cat café, world class architecture, a beautiful Botanical Gardens, big fish, a parrot, and a network of canals that make all bar Venice envious. We have the best restaurant scene in the UK outside London and we’ve even got a big mechanical bull called Ozzy.…

A Doctor day treat

Not only is it an anniversary but there was no rain expected for once. The Gods had clearly decided that I should pull out something special from my 222 pair footwear collection. I picked out these Limited Edition Nike Air Max 1s. Heads were turning in the village as you might expect!
