Me and John go way back, I’ve loved his music since my teens and we first met back in 1999 – 21 years ago! I probably remember it better than he does and I’m fine with that. Renaissance in Nottingham was short lived but good whilst it lasted. I met John again a year later at Twilo in New York. Again it didn’t last, it seems special clubs are doomed to have short lifespans. As in physics “a light than burns twice as bright burns half as long.” That may be the case for clubs but John’s star has shone for decades. For that I’m thankful.
