Reset – Workout #1

Just back from 3 weeks abroad, it was amazing but a touch frustrating too because I want health, wellbeing and fitness to be my top priority right now. I went away with vows of “lean/clean eating” but deep down I knew it wasn’t realistic. The nature of both trips militated against a non-indulgent dietary system.…

Bank holiday workout

It hasn’t been a vintage bank holiday Sunday so I’m happy to have got a workout in, so that it is at least constructive. I focused on chest and back in terms of anaerobic and cardio featured in the form of bag work, trampolining, kettlebell swings and medicine balls slams. An hour or two later…

Another aerobic/anaerobic hybrid gym session

This workout was one of those where you just feel powerful and energetic for no known reason. That made it enjoyable and the quality of the beats (Deep Dish) only added to it.

One small step for man, one giant leap for the man’s fitness mission!

After a (typically) long period procrastinating I have executed a plan to get a punch bag mounted in my garage gym. It’s taken a month to put it together – buying the bag on Ebay (bargain!), fetching the mount from Decathlon, fetching the Rawl plugs from Homebase, the wall mats from Aldi, etc, etc. So…

Putting in the minimum (not always a bad thing)

Although teaching started up again this week I still managed to squeeze in two short sessions. Here’s a few video clips from the second. Note: I wore some new footwear that I love. Pair 101! 🙂 ARMS & SHOULDERS

Monday workout recap

Managed to squeeze in an arms and shoulders session on Monday (13th September). I can’t guarantee that I’ll keep momentum going into the autumn term (I’m a lecturer) but I’m certainly committed to doing so! 🏋️🚴

Holiday Iron Pumpin’

What else would I do with paid leave day #1? It’s been a scorcher, 27oC for much of the afternoon so I was dripping wet. I did 8 exercises covering arms, shoulders, chest and back so it was a bit of an all-rounder. I very much hope to build momentum before the autumn term starts.…

A little mid-week weights session

Getting back on the pulse is never easy, even if you have a predictable job and schedule (which I haven’t of late). It’s easy to get into the mindset that there’s no point getting back into the groove if you’ll inevitably be edged out of it again by something unforeseeable. I need to shift my…

Bounce back #2 (quick shoulders catch up)

I tried out my 4k action cam for the first time to record a gym session and the results were much better than with my phone. Shame about the audio, I might have to invest in a GoPro at some point.

Bounce back: gym

After an insane 2021 so far I finally pumped a dumbbell or two last week. Here’s a badly made video snipped to capture the moment 🙂
