Since last Christmas I have been monitoring the price of this blanc de noirs Champagne. Aldi stubbornly refused to discount it and then suddenly – 2 weeks ago – they bumped £6 off per bottle. Of course, it sold out and all that was left was a price tag, much to my chagrin. The average Aldi peasant would have simply seen “cheap Champers” and grabbed it without any sense of what makes it special. Very annoying 😦
Anyway the story has a happy ending because an additional 3 bottles were put out without a price tag. The Chavs left them alone as a consequence, and I was able to snap them up at the unpromoted £12.99.
So there isn’t much justice in the world but there is some!
