A 30 mile ride in the English countryside. It’s my first bike outing since my hernia op in September and boy could I tell. The power is gone from my legs, I couldn’t really tell on the flats but on the hills there was nothing in reserve. For those who don’t know, a hernia op precludes strenuous activity for at least 2 months post-op. When this is combined with a restrictive diet the loss of muscle mass is certain. The 2023 mission is clear: take back what I’ve lost and reach new heights 🚵💪
