Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

There’s not much I can add in terms of superlatives, it was an incredible event and I’m super proud of how the city I’ve made home hosted this festival of sport. Only world class planning and organisation could have made such a huge occasion go off without a hitch. If nothing else, it shows there is plenty of competence outside of our failed-State central government.

London might be the capital of the country but Birmingham has the heart. It’s the least loved of the major UK cities and I hope a long-overdue change in perceptions results from this international 2 week party.

I turned down a chance to go to Seattle to stay in Birmingham for the games. I’ve made my fair share of bad decisions but this was not one of them.
