A few years ago footwear emerged as a hobby. I keep telling myself I only need X or Y to complete my collection, but then I stumbled across some new must haves and my definition of completeness is tweaked somewhat.
The latest “musts” was a couple of pairs of limited edition Air Force 1s. AF1s are the most collectable of all trainers; I may well be able to sell them for more than I paid if I keep them box fresh. With 106 pairs of shoes/trainers (for now) I do not have to wear them, it’s purely optional and about the joy of ownership.
Limited editions are set to become another investment vehicle for me alongside fine wine. Shares are a sound long-term bet but they are not as much fun as tangibles you love.
