… Google Pics regularly sends me “this time last year” or “this time two years ago” photo montages, and it humours me how predictable I am.
The day after I layed fresh grass seed this year I got such a montage which showed how I did the same job on exactly the same day 2 years ago. Love me or hate me but don’t say I’m not consistent. π
Anyway, my metaphor: nurturing a life is no different to nurturing a fresh lawn. You do the groundwork, you’re patient, you plant lots of seeds – all little opportunities – you cover them in top soil to protect your investment, and then you nurture them to create something beautiful.
Thus I’m happy to be predictable; not much I do in a given year really means much but this annual ritual does, at least to me.
Speaking of meaningful, here’s a happy cat on Good Friday 2021 π
