I’ve been so busy lately that I failed to post about how I no longer live behind bars! It was not easy by any stretch of the imagination but I finally got the safety rail removed from the exterior of the living room patio doors (see below). My living room is located on the middle floor so the builders installed a wrought iron safety feature to stop children (or fools) stumbling off the patio roof. Given that I’m neither a child nor a fool it had no functional use whilst it cramped my style to an unacceptable extent. Hence it was only a matter of time before I unburden myself.
Although the living room has not been fully decorated yet it still looks so much nicer without. The sole good thing about the safety rail was that it became the home of an escaped peacock for a week: the silver lining to a rusty cloud. I miss Carl the peacock 😦
BEFORE (with peacock – didn’t take many pics of the rail because it was ugly)

AFTER (without bars)
