If this isn’t the ultimate nostalgia TV I don’t know what is?! I played basketball in junior school and loved it. I was pretty good too (for a chubby white kid), so was disappointed to find out that my high school didn’t have a team. Nonetheless, during those formative years “The Bulls” turned basketball into a global phenonenon and it was hard not to feel carried away – even from little old England. All we had to look forward to was a weekly highlights show on Channel 4, which typically featured “The Bulls” as the extended highlights game. Even my girlfriend of the time (who generally hated sports) was transformed into a “Bulls fan.”
If you watch this documentary you will see why, as Michael Jordan is able to do things mere mortals could only dream of. I’m touching 40 and watching this still makes me want to “be like Mike,” which is exactly the kind of inspiration we all felt as teens. Jordan’s genius is timeless, even if this show is a dreamy trip down memory lane.
