Nobody can do it all, the notion that anybody can is a myth peddled by privileged types who have a (concealed) army to do it all for them. I have no such army and I don’t especially want one, my standards are too exacting and I would end up re-doing it all anyway. Moreover, there are calories to be burned in washing your car and pulling weeds out yourself. Get off your lazy arse middle classes and do it yourself!
My garden is a seasonal project to which this applies. As is clear from previous posts I spend a couple of days every few weeks developing it for peak summer. My front and back garden both have their challenges whilst the key variable – the weather – is out of my control. My point is that one can only do so much.
What these pictures show is the end result of development stage #2. Whereas my front lawn was 90% moss in March it is now entirely grass, beautiful emerald grass as you can see. Note I haven’t used any filters here, that’s the real colour! Not bad to say there was borderline drought conditions in April and May.
In the meantime my flagships (hydrangeas & lilies) have grown in size, colour and prominence whilst my trees are big and healthy. What I could really use now is plenty of rain to save on my water bill..!
