A picture speaks a thousand words as they say. In diet week #2 Vs week #3 I lost 4,200 calories less. The reason for this was that I found out last Tuesday that I had a job assessment this Monday (8th June). I wasn’t planning on twiddling my thumbs Wednesday to Sunday waiting for something to come up, I had a full schedule and so had to squeeze preparation in between everything else. Consequently, I had to go from being at my desk 5/6 hours a day to all day (and night) every day.
The last thing I want right now is an entirely desk-based life because it is what got me over-weight in the first place. If I had two weeks’ notice of the assessment I could have balanced preparation with ample physical activity. Little notice meant I had to put everything on hold for five days, undermining the singular purpose and sense of momentum.
I haven’t “fallen off the wagon” but it feels like I have. I was happy and flattered to be shortlisted but my focus and priorities have shifted a lot in the last few months. I don’t feel ready to shift them back this soon.
I’m not sure if I’ll get the post but either way I feel like it is a “now or never” moment to get in shape and stay in shape. Job opportunities come and go but I’m determined that this transition sticks and that I hit my goals.
