It was the right time to get some cyclical and long-term garden work done. The perfect after pictures will take a few weeks because to make an omelette you have to break some eggs. Planting/uprooting trees is a messy business, in the immediate sense you have to go backwards to go forwards. Like most things gardening is a deferred gratification game.
WEEDING THE FRONT (before/after)
I pulled out hundreds, this picture does my effort (and sore back) no credit!
UPROOTING/REPLANTING BABY ASH
On the left is an ash tree that grew wild in the shrubbery. It was too close to the house so I had to pull it out. It’s hard work digging out a 7ft. tree, not something I’d like to do every day. I really hope it takes in its new location.

PLANTING THE CHERRY TREE
This tree was a gift. It didn’t do well in a planter so I really hope it takes in the ground.
APPLE TREE
This leafy friend has been with me for 5 years. I was very happy to remove it from a planter and give it a permanent home. It got a prestige spot too, right new to my bench 🙂 It took over an hour to dig the hole though, Worcestershire clay is a nightmare! 😦
BACK GARDEN
I mowed both lawns on the longest setting. My new grass seed is still settling in so a close cut wasn’t appropriate…
