I’m excited to have received this collection of essays edited by Jason Ditton today, who himself was the author of some of the best organisational studies of his time. “Part Time Crime” and “Controlology” remain under-appreciated masterpieces in my view.
Regardless, I believe this to be the first collection of Goffman essays compiled (back in 1980). It features work by some of the best known Goffman scholars including George Gonos and Peter Manning, which I will eagerly absorb. I have a new contribution in mind so I have to build up my Goffman library as part of the process.
I just love old books. This used to be the property of Llyfrgell Coleg Harlech Library (apparently that means the National Library of Wales) and now it adorns my own. I however will not give it up so easily, it’s definitely a keeper!
